Allison Borgschulte - "Universal Black Acanthus" Panel Marble

This is a contemporary handmade marble made by Allison Borgschulte.  Allison is a glass artist specializing in stained and fused glass techniques.  She worked with Hot House Glass to create a handful of marbles by creating glass rectangular panels that Hot House Glass wrapped into spheres for her.  This piece was painted with Ruesche stained glass enamels with techniques that have been utilized in stained glass windows for hundreds of years.   The design of an acanthus leaf bouquets is a nod to classical architectural design.  An image of the panel prior to being wrapped in a sphere is included for your reference.  This marble is approximately 3 1/2" in diameter.
