Orion's Belt

This round paperweight contains an atmosphere of flares of dicroic metallic glass. Floating above this atmosphere are three small stars in a line which are Orion's Belt. It has two flat sides, one to give it a base and one to create a window looking into the paperweight. Since a spherical form of glass magnifies the contents inside, the flat window gives you a smaller and very different perspective of what is going on inside. This paperweight was handmade by artists at the Glass Eye Studio. It is recycled glass and contains ash from the 1980 Mt. St. Helens eruption. Diameter is approximately 3 1/4".
